JUNETEENTH CELEBRATES IN ORLANDO WILL BE A UNIQUE EVENT
The history, heritage, and influence of African Americans are celebrated on Juneteenth. Orlando is celebrating with a host of unique events in 2023, and you are invited to join in (Orlando Lake Eola Park pictured).
The National Independence Day of Juneteenth, a combination of June and Nineteenth, was established by the federal government in 2021 to recognize the final emancipation of African Americans who had suffered from slavery. The last announcement was made on June 19, 1865, in Galveston, Texas. We invite you to join us as we celebrate our African American community with vibrant Juneteenth events in Orlando, including cultural expositions, high-energy parties, and much more.

WEEKEND OF JUNETEENTH 1887 (JUNE 16-18, 2023)
Eatonville, one of the first African American communities in America, invites you to celebrate 1887 Juneteenth Weekend for three days. Bring your tuxedos and dashikis to the Wakandan Fathers Day Gala on June 16, as African dancers and drummers perform, followed by a Juneteenth Parade and Pavilion Central Florida's Juneteenth Festival of Arts. It will include live music and entertainment, global cuisine, and a kiddie corner. Juneteenth Freedom Celebration will celebrate African American resilience on June 18.

THE TEENTH 407 WEEKEND (JUNE 16-18, 2023)
Experience historic Parramore's historical African American culture and resilience with a series of events. Hosted by Black Friday Orlando, this multi-day celebration will begin with a Black Friday Scavenger Hunt (June 16 17), followed by a Better Together Mixer (June 16); a Juneteenth Block Party featuring food trucks, a kids zone and DJ (June 17); and The Anti Brunch, an all-inclusive Fathers Day brunch at The Monroe in Orlandos Creative Village (June 18).
HANNIBAL SQUARE CELEBRATION - 8TH ANNUAL JUNETEENTH (JUNE 17, 2023).
The Hannibal Square Heritage Center and Crealde School of Art will host the 8th annual Juneteenth Celebration: Knowing, Remembering, and Shifting the Narrative at the Winter Park Community Center, which will feature speakers from the Real Rosewood Foundation and the Frost Museum in Miami. At the Hannibal Square Heritage Center, you can view the traveling exhibition An Elegy to Rosewood and explore the permanent collection of photographs, oral histories, and public art.
JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION (JUNE 17, 2023) IN ORLANDO
Orlando will host its second annual Juneteenth celebration at Clear Lake Park, adjacent to downtown Orlando, featuring live music and entertainment, a kid zone, vendor village, and food trucks.
The 17th All Black Party of Black-ish (June 17, 2023)
In downtown Orlando, the Nightshade Lounge is hosting a Black-Ish: Juneteenth All Black Party, with drink and bottle specials. For free admission until 11 p.m., wear all black and RSVP online.

JUNETEENTH IN WINTER PARK: JAZZ & JUBILEE UNDER THE STARS (June 17, 2023)

THE 19TH JUNETEENTH RESOURCES & CULTURAL ARTS FESTIVAL (JUNE 17, 2023)
A Juneteenth Resource & Cultural Arts Festival is being held at Bill Breeze Park in Ocoee, a 20-minute drive southwest of Orlando. There will be community resources, cultural arts, performers, members of the Florida legislature, including representatives of the WellsBuilt Museum of African American History and Culture.

THE 3RD ANNUAL LUNCH & LEARN EVENT OF THE BGTM (JUNE 18, 2023)
A family-friendly Lunch & Learn: A BGTM Juneteenth Event, hosted by the Florida Theater Association and Orlando Repertory Theater, will take place in Loch Haven Cultural Park. A delicious barbecue lunch will be served, children's books about Juneteenth will be read, face painting will be available, a DJ bubble party by DJ Jae will be held, as well as other exciting events.
FIELD DAY ON 6/19/2023 (JUNE 19/2023)
The Juneteenth Field Day will be held at Barnett Park on June 19th, and a variety of games and activities for all ages will be provided, such as tug-of-war and potato sack races. You can also buy food and drinks at the event.
A CELEBRATION OF JUNETEENTH (JUNE 19, 2023) - FACETS OF FREEDOM
The Renaissance Theatre Company presents Facets of Freedom: A Celebration of Juneteenth with musical performances, dance, visual arts, and spoken word. Located in Ivanhoe Village District of Orlando, the event is being presented by Black Girl Theater Magic in partnership with No Drama Entertainment, New Generation Theatrical, Central Florida Vocal Arts, EatMe360, Hawkmoon Entertainment, and Creative City Orlando.
